Hello my lovelies! It’s been a bit since I did a BTBR but since it’s the New Year and most people are all about getting healthy because if you haven’t heard, healthy is the new skinny, I think it is a brilliant thing but some people may not be doing it for the right reasons like my sister.
My sister thought being healthy was like a sentence to jail, she asked me to help coach her in the right direction, I thought it would be a good practice for patient education as a nurse so I agreed to it.
First thing first, healthy is NOT a sentence to life imprisonment. It is a journey, a mental and physical change which will take time, dedication and determination. It becomes less of a task if you are looking at it from a life time, lifestyle perspective. Once you understand this, it will make life for you so much easier!
Take me for example, I don’t exercise and I’m plus size. I eat healthy and I know the right size and amount a person like me (someone who does not work out) should eat to maintain my figure or lose weight. Could I work out? Most definitely but not now, I’m too busy. Haha.
However, if you are not eating healthy at all and you know this to be true, I urge you to do your research, read books, go online, use google, ask questions online or talk to your doctor. Use the professionals that have been put in place to help you! I don’t believe in weight watchers, there is so much information out there that you can use to your benefit, the only problem is trimming the information to fit and meet your needs. However once that is done, it is still not a cakewalk because you still have to be determined to follow your new regimen.
This is not something that should consume your whole life, simply take baby steps. One at a time and have patience! Patience is so crutial! Rome was not built in a day, so do not expect your mentality, behaviour, and needs, to change in one day, NO! it will not work like that!
Maintaining a healthy body is important. So make a commitment to yourself and slowly and gradually research, make healthier choices in terms of your meals and portions and hopefully it helps you!
